Tape Empire
Total Votes: 1264Rating: 8.51Rank: #2

Photo Information
Type: Sculpture
Date Completed:  ,
Time Taken: 1 Years
Materials used to make:
Scotch tape and Elmer's glue, along with packing tape, masking tape, strapping tape, duct tape, electrical tape...
Meaning behind artwork:
A giant, sprawling, metropolitan collection of skyscrapers built over and around one another, with massive transit lines keeping everything connected and buzzing with activity.
Additional Comments:
This is the largest of my four pieces in the collection of the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD. The four - 'The Empire', 'The Pearl', 'The Carnival', and 'Suburbia' - all fit together through an intricate system of slots and tabs to create a single massive structure called 'Tapeworld'.
